Eastbound & Down is an American comedy series on HBO, currently in its third season, which premiered Sunday, February 19. The main character is Kenny Powers, a former major-league baseball pitcher with an abrasive and cocky attitude, who is trying to regain his long-lost fame after a tumultuous baseball career. His main love interest throughout the show is April Buchanon, his old high school girlfriend, who during Season 1 has a fiance. Over the course of Season 2, Kenny wins April's heart, but when he gets bad career news, he leaves her without warning. By the end of Season 2, April is pregnant with Kenny's child, even though they are not together. Season 3 shows Kenny and April's son, Toby, but after the first episode of Season 3, April skips town leaving Kenny to raise Toby by himself.
